Featured Arabic service card and supporting portal content.

The challenge

Finding the right service

The ministry brings environment, water and agriculture services together. Khaled Al Nagar and I designed an Arabic-first portal, helping visitors find services without needing to know the organisation behind them.

Early handwritten planning sketches for the ministry portal.

The approach

The existing portal filed services by system, such as enquiries and billing. We organised the directory around its audiences instead, then the agencies and services they need. Shared page patterns connect the directory, service detail, sign-in and supporting tools.

The experience

Audience before agency

Visitors begin with an audience group and follow a column browser towards a service. Frequently used services appear as cards. Each service page explains the audience, timing and delivery channel before the form.

Audience choices for individuals, businesses, government and visitors.Right-to-left column browser moving from agency to service.Service details showing duration, audience and delivery channel before the form.

Accessibility controls

Accessibility controls have a consistent toolbar, including contrast and text size. Content pages also provide reading, printing, sharing and feedback actions.

Four accessibility tools for colours, voice commands, contrast and font size.FAQ, contact and video help band with page-level assistance controls.

Reusable service patterns

Sign-in presents the relevant national single-sign-on paths. Reusable menus, cells, footers and help sections form a modular page system that can adapt across the portal.

Three sign-in choices for individuals, companies and government staff.Reusable ministry menus, calendar and footer components.

The outcome

The project was delivered as design for the portal build. The handoff included the service directory, service pages, sign-in and reusable interface patterns.
