The challenge
The work focused on helping people explore homes in Egypt and understand their options. Property discovery needed a clear relationship between location, the listing and the next action.
The approach
I led product design, working with the team on research, information architecture and user flows. The decision that shaped the rest was to let location lead: a map-based interface, with the listing and the next action organised around it.
The experience
The design connects the map with property information, helping people move between an area and the homes available there.
Search starts on the map
Compounds are drawn on a satellite map, with the homes for sale in a panel beside it, so an area and its listings are read together.
Weighing a home
A property page brings the gallery, a 3D tour, price insights for the area and a financing calculator together.
A guided search
A personal assistant asks for the compound, the budget and the type of home, then shows the homes that match.
Across web and mobile
Listing pages, listing cards and the mobile onboarding share one set of components.
The outcome
The map-led search launched. Discovery, listings, notifications and conversations all had to behave the same way, so the work also produced a shared design language and design system for Sakneen, developed with Mahmoud Hassan and Yasmine Khalil.
